Heavy Heart

Recieved a call last night that a dear man, who just opened Harley's Diner (very cool restaurant with lots of smiling people working there) died in a motorcycle accident last night. It just hit my heart SO hard! I have trouble understanding my emotions some times. I work with people at the end of their life daily and generally I do ok. Sometimes though...my heart just feels like it's going to break. As in this case. Please pray for his wife Colleen and 2 (grown) sons.
Today I have a "difficult" transport of a patient to the doctor. Once again, young man, a heart breaking story. I think I need some shower/prayer time this morning before I put on a smile and head out the door. It's rainy today. But I'm thankful that we have a loving God and that both these men love Him.

Oh my goodness. That is so sad. My prayers go out to the family.

I've read your writings at different times and find many of them refreshing to read. My oldest daughter is having quite a bit of trouble with the separation and loss that comes from losing loved ones.

She is a strong and compassionate individual and has a close relationship with the Lord. But when it comes to losing someone she loves, she struggles. A woman from our church recently passed on and this has brought up this painful issue she faces, losing one of her parents or parents to death. I've shared with her that as a Christian the life we have with the Lord is way better than the one we have here. That's not her problem. She doesn't understand why God leaves a 12 year old son on the earth without parents and the comfort, security and love that a family gives. Any comments would be appreciated?

Losing people we love and the pain of loss is something we all struggle with. I have LOTS of unanswered questions myself at 51! Her compassion and sensitivity to other people is a gift. I hope that she realizes this and walks very closely with God. This one thing I know. God loves us and He is faithful. What a blessing to have a daughter like yours.
