Katie has spent over 50 hours researching for this National History Day Contest, school project and making this poster and paper. Her subject is The Freedom Rides. Along with this poster is pages and pages of information, etc. It's an amazing job really. I'm hoping she takes state!!
And now that it's done, I can see the kitchen counter AND my living room table and floor!!

I just have to say I love reading your blog. I live in the Detroit Area and have been in the bus that Rosa Parks was on when she refused to give up her seat. My daughter got to sit in her seat. It is now seriously restricted but its an amazing thing to see. I get goosebumps every time I see it at the museum.
Thanks for posting! Wow, you saw the bus! Katie's taking the poster up to the university this week. Hopefully it will place in the competition. We certainly ALL learned a lot about what when on in the early 60's.
