Orange Rubber Bands

What a wonderful day! I woke up with a stiff neck this morning...but made it to church. After church (we all drove separate cars because we were all going separate ways after church) I went to the athletic club and swam 30 laps. A gentleman came up to me and asked WHY the orange rubberbands. I told him that I start with a pile, move one over with each completed lap so that I don't have to concentrate on what lap I'm on and I can think and pray while I swim. He thought I was brilliant. LOL

Then I picked up a birthday present for my 72 year old friend who lives down the road (he lost his wife last fall and I've continued to keep in contact.) He's asked me to be on his Med-Alert response list so I'm going over tomorrow at 9 a.m. to learn his new fandangled combination entry for his home. I got him kalamata olives, hummus, ak-mak sesame crackers and rye krisp, and two good kinds of cheese. Oh and a Birthday card. I know this gentleman likes his wine so maybe he can "snack" on these things. I'm not good at knowing what to get for men. He doesn't eat sweets.

THEN... my friend Sherry came over and she and I took Molly for a walk up the hill and loop in my neighborhood. She wasn't even winded on the hill! I...couldn't speak at all! But at least I had the strength to get UP the hill! Some years... my first time, I've had to stop and rest. So I can tell my swimming is paying off!

Now, after a big salad...I'm hanging out with my family for the evening. Perfect day! And my stiff neck is almost gone!

Karen, my mother used to do the same thing as your rubberband trick while doing her laps! Only she would save the lids from the plastic gallon milk jugs, wash them, and use them out by the pool to count her laps. I think she had cute little containers that she would put the disks into--transferring from the "start" container to the "end" container. Anyhoo! I thought that it was interesting that you came up with the same concept. ((((HUGZ)))) Evey

Well Ev, If your mama did it I know it's a brilliant idea! Have a great day! Happy House Hunting! I know the perfect one is out there for you waiting for you to find it!

If I climb that hill with you, you'll have to take lots of breaks. I'm not doing all that marvelous swimming so I'm totally out of shape when it comes to anything more than level walking. :)

You or should I say, WE did great today! Good think Molly needed to stop and sniff a lot! My rear-end sure feels it!
