Work has been busy but Katie and I always make time to attend (and videotape) a wedding!! Alton is a trumpeter for the Army and stationed on Ft. Wainwright.
Vanessa is a new hospice volunteer and just moved this winter from Germany to be with her fiance', Alton.
Chaplain Murray officiated and was even able to do Vanessa's vows in German! And now they are married!!
Sweet couple!
Yesterday was my dear friend Brenda's birthday. She's MUCH younger than I, (10 years) but I always give her a hard time about getting old. And so, in her card, that Katie made for her, I wrote,
"They tell you that you'll lose your mind when you grow older. What they don't tell you is that you won't miss it very much."
Brenda runs a 10 bed assisted living and most of her patients (whom she loves dearly) have Alzheimers. So this saying really did speak to her heart. It's amazing to see the love of God, and the love for these sweet people that Brenda has. I love her so.Today I'm invited to have lunch with a woman that is a Grief Recovery Specialist along with several of my coworkers. Tonight is stay home with our favorite Dad/Husband, night and then we have a conference at church starting Friday - Sunday night with Leif Hetland. God used this man last year when he did a Father's Heart Conference at our church to really change my heart, my attitude, and my life. I'm very excited about this Soaring Eagles Conference.
So... we are having a wonderful spring break! I have this teenage daughter that tells me she loves me all through the day. What could be more perfect than that.
